New from me on PNConnect:
The News: A study published in The Information reports that Facebook videos have an extraordinarily short half-life, accumulating 75% of their lifetime views in the first four days after their published. Compare that to YouTube, where the same videos took 79 days to reach that level. In other words, videos on Facebook fade quickly after the period of time where they’re usually in the News Feed and then are never seen again, whereas YouTube videos are more persistent.
Perhaps this is because Facebook is still horrible to search — even within a page, which now has that search bar — whereas YouTube works almost as easily as their parent company’s little search engine. 😉
