  • Cohen created Jony Ive-like video where he presents “The Nobby” as the next in a line of products like “The Borat” and others, with him giving a keynote speech that lays out the movie’s story in very Apple-esque fashion.

Straight Outta Compton

  • No, I didn’t actually write about that the movie’s campaign but this story about how Universal very specifically targeted Facebook ads to various demographics, including showing versions that didn’t so much feature the African-American cast as prominently, is super-interesting. While some have gone sensationalistic and are calling this racist I don’t think it’s done with malicious intent. More like just assuming the worst in your audience and then using some scary-accurate ad targeting to play to those assumptions.
