Before The Show: The Big Short, 1/2/16

Unlike some other trips to the theater I can’t say anyone trailer played better for the crowd than any other. There were certainly some laughs for Boss and Nice Guys (not so many for Zoolander 2, which may be disturbing) but that’s about all I noticed. It seemed like an odd mix of trailers with a grab-bag of comedies, disturbingly graphic dramas and more. That may be a result of The Big Short itself being a “dramedy,” with both clear comedic and dramatic elements and so the trailer programmers tried to mix it up a bit.

Triple 9 (The green-band version was shown but for the love of mercy I can’t find it right now)

Boss

Risen

The Revenant (This movie needs to come out already so I can stop sitting through the trailer)

Everybody Wants Some

Zoolander 2

Nice Guys (A nice Gosling tie-in to The Big Short)
