Picking Up the Spare: Burnt, Spotlight, Spectre, The Peanuts Movie and Truth

  • In what kind of felt like a bit of last-minute desperation, one final trailer was released just days before release. Unfortunately this is my favorite trailer because it takes the focus off of Cooper and really takes time to feature the supporting cast and flesh out who they are in his world. That trailer was a hit on Twitter immediately after it came out, but it wasn’t enough to save the movie.
  • Both Burnt and Our Brand Is Crisis saw huge TV ad spending spikes at the very end, but it was all for naught.

Spotlight

  • A new TV spot was given to CraveOnline that went a little hard in the paint on the dramatic narration.

Spectre

  • Just before release a batch of posters came out that were fun takes on their weekend box-office competition Spectre with a bunch of Bond-themed image.
