So Republicans had no problem with end-of-life counseling in 2003 but now they do? Seems about right, actually, and I think Amy Sullivan is right in guessing this is just a convenient hook on which to hang a general sentiment of “we don’t wanna” because now it’s a Democratic President that wants to package this as just one part of a larger reform proposal.
