The audience for long-form video like movies on home devices remains elusive according to a new report by the research firm the Diffusion Group.

The report says only about 10 percent of broadband customers have tried one of the handful of movie download services and that just one percent use them with any regularity.

The problem, according to the report, is that the movies are downloaded to the customer’s computer and there’s no way to then watch them on the TV. Bridging that gap could potentially increase usage.

The report also says interest in watching video on mobile devices remains staggeringly low.
