• static4.jpgKarina announces she’ll be adding a weekly segment to the FilmCouch podcast from Spout. She said she’s taking questions that she’ll then try to answer in the podcast so I’m pretty much approaching this as “Stump Longworth.”
  • C.C. Chapman says there’s a major disconnect between the Bridge to Terebithia’s marketing campaign and the movie itself. This is something I heard a lot about when the movie first came out but it’s nice to hear from someone who isn’t always talking movies.
  • Todd gives a huge thumbs up to Stardust, saying it’s one of the best flicks of the year. This has more influence over my desire to see the movie than the campaign or any of the negative to middling reviews the movie got.
  • Ian Schafer got quoted in the Wall Street Journal about video advertising and its usage.

  1. Hey Chris – I was almost swayed by the average reviews of Stardust, but am thankful I didn’t listen. It’s an amazing movie – probably the best thing I’ve seen since 300. Let me know when you see it.

  2. “She said she’s taking questions that she’ll then try to answer in the podcast so I’m pretty much approaching this as “Stump Longworth.””

Yeah, that’s a reasonable way to take it. I imagine it’ll vacillate between that, and “Let’s ask Karina personal questions, which she’ll indirectly answer by talking about movies.” But we’ll see. So far, I’ve been posing my own questions, which makes me feel like Carrie from Sex and the City, which is pretty much the most uncomfortable thing I could imagine.

  3. I thought Stardust was fair, certainly not great or on the level of “300.” It was one of those movies (like “Transformers”) where the bits just didn’t quite hit for me. Sure, Pfieffer was great, but the two leads were uninspiring, at least until the last 15 minutes, and they ruined seeing Robert DeNiro as a tough guy for me forever. 🙂

    Vic
