Mark Glaser’s piece here sums up how Oscar marketing is going grass-roots but ultimately comes off as kind of a puff piece. I don’t think he raises nearly enough objections to the assertions some of these site operators make.

I harbor no illusions about my humble web log here. I get about 40-60 visitors a week and that’s about right for the amount of time and energy I’m able to put into it. If I could do more I could probably get that up to 100 but I doubt the 4 million a day number touted by OscarWatch is attainable. I enjoy writing about movies and that’s that.
