Industry Moves: 10/05/09

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has reorganized its marketing division (Variety, 10/4/09) into one Alison Biggers-led group that will cover both domestic and international brand marketing efforts, mirroring an organizational chart they already had in the publicity, creative and other departments.

Universal has elevated marketing chief Adam Fogelson and distribution head Donna Langley as co-chairmen following what was a rough 2009 at the studio and nothing on the immediate horizon that looks likely to reverse things.

Disney is making some drastic changes at Miramax, including folding its marketing operations into the main studio and cutting its film output dramatically. Disney has also named Rich Ross the new chairman of the studio, overseeing all production, distribution and marketing efforts there.
